What This Is
The DBS Framework Skill is a file you install in Claude that teaches it how to build automations the right way. Instead of Claude improvising a different structure every time you ask it to create a Skill, this file gives it a proven architecture to follow every single time.
DBS stands for Direction, Blueprints, and Solutions. These are three layers that determine how any automation should be structured depending on how complex the task is.
- Direction is the process. The step-by-step workflow Claude follows to get the job done.
- Blueprints are the knowledge. Your business-specific expertise that Claude loads on demand.
- Solutions are the tools. Scripts and code that produce precise output or connect to external services.
When you install this Skill, Claude walks you through building any automation using this framework. It asks the right questions, helps you decide which layers you need, and scaffolds the entire folder structure for you.
How to install it:
- Claude.ai: Download the zip file below. Go to Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload a Skill. Upload the zip.
- Claude Cowork: Download the zip, unzip it, and place the `dbs-framework` folder inside your working folder.
- Claude Code: Place the `dbs-framework` folder in `~/.claude/skills/` for personal use or `.claude/skills/` for project use.
How long it takes: 30 seconds to install. Then just ask Claude to help you build a Skill and it uses the DBS framework automatically.
